Sure, you can create your own bat files, but keep this in mind. When you are create a Web through the MMC, the Web you create is checked against all other Webs to see if it's a duplicate. When you use our vbs script, since we allow up to 5 Server Bindings to be created, only the first Binding is checked against all other Webs in IIS. So, just be sure, when you create your own bat/vbs based scripts, that you understand this.
